Patrick grew up in a football town.
Auburn, Alabama and the people of Auburn are the inspiration for
many of Patrick’s songs and stories. In case you don’t fully
grasp how intense the love of football is in Auburn, Patrick and
his wife Lesley got married there in the university chapel in
the fall of 2004. The wedding had to be planned on an away
football game weekend; otherwise no one but family would have
shown up; even the family is still questionable.
After graduating from the University of
Southern Mississippi in 1994, Patrick decided to turn his
passion into a profession and moved to Nashville, Tennessee.
While living in Nashville, Patrick was a regular performer at
the Bluebird Café. The Bluebird is a world famous songwriters
“joint” that has been known to be host to some of the best
songwriters in the world. Patrick will eagerly tell you that he
is NOT one of the best songwriters in the world. Although
Patrick wrote good songs while in Nashville, he loves to say
that the guys who get rich write great songs. The songs that
Patrick became known for around Music City were his funny songs.
These were the songs that he wrote for fun and had no real
chance of making any money….until now. Patrick has combined his
funny songs, stories and message into a program that is taking
the meetings industry by storm.
When not performing and speaking, Patrick
enjoys spending time with his wife Lesley and their three
children, Jack, Robert, and Meredith, in Burlington, North
Carolina. He hates jogging but does it anyway and is a blue belt
in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. Patrick competed in his first triathlon
in 2008 and although called it “the most miserable experience of
my life”, he is hooked and now competes around the country. Do
you know what you call someone who comes in last place in a
triathlon?.........A TRIATHLETE. “We are all competitors”
Patrick says, “on the mat, on the field, in the classroom or in
our jobs. The one who wins is usually the one who best plans to
do so.” |
